Antoni Tàpies was born on December 13th in Barcelona and he died in 2012. Started in WO2 with art/painting he became world wide famous. He became influenced by artists like Duchamp, Braque, Kandinsky and Picasso. He studied at the German school in Barcelona. After 3 years of studying law, he started to be an artist. He is well known as one of the pioniers of the after-WO2-Spanish Avantgarde. The work of Tàpies shows the typical way of living under Franco.
